Individuals that now qualify for antiviral medication include: anyone over the age of 70, being over 50 with two or more risk factors and being over 18 and immunocompromised or having a disability/living in residential care.

Medication is best commenced as early as possible and must be given within the first 5 days of infection. You must have a positive RAT or PCR test.

You can also book an appointment before getting sick in order to discuss antiviral medication with your doctor.

Please be aware that some antiviral medications have important drug interactions which need to be considered.

We are trying to assist our patients to be able to access antiviral medication in a timely manner by having more dedicated appointments for patients who test positive.
